About Me…

I have always loved stories; sweeping epics that whisk you away and little snippets that make you smile on a tough day. Growing up, my friends would watch CBBC, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel but I was already obsessed with The Lord of the Rings…which I think tells you all you need to know.

I first read Pride and Prejudice when I was nine; The Princess Bride is one of my favourite movies; I watch A Muppet Christmas Carol every Christmas Eve without fail. It was only natural for me to start writing my own stories, some of which have been published.

Now, I live in a small town with my partner and our rescue dog, a corgi cross named Lilly. Aside from reading, editing and writing, I like to find other craft projects, preferably ones I can do with my latest TV series playing in the background, like cross stitch. Otherwise, I’ll be playing the latest game I have become obsessed with.

As an editor…

I am a home-based freelance editor based in Sleaford, Lincolnshire. I realised my love of editing after my first workshops on my English Literature and Creative Writing university course. I shifted my focus to creative writing and editing and went on to complete a master’s degree in creative writing. I have completed online courses in editing and proofreading and spent approximately a year as a voluntary critique partner, helping other writers improve their craft in my spare time before I transitioned to paid work.

The best thing about working with me? What you see is what you get. No handing projects over to a team of editorial lackeys. Just me, my laptop and sometimes the company of my dog. I give open and honest feedback suited to your needs, striving to complete projects swiftly but also accurately. Though fantasy is my speciality, I will look at most projects with a focus on genre fiction. If you’re interested in my various editing services, check out my services page for more information.
